Singer and musician D4vd, born David Anthony Burke, is now being considered a suspect in the death investigation of teenager Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was discovered in the trunk of his Tesla in September 2025. While the Los Angeles Police Department has not officially named him a suspect, sources close to the investigation have confirmed this development.
The case began when Hernandez's dismembered and decomposing remains were found, leading to a wide-ranging police inquiry. In the initial weeks, authorities maintained that the death was an open investigation and had not publicly identified any suspects. However, the probe has since intensified, focusing more closely on the 19-year-old singer. Shortly after the gruesome discovery, authorities confirmed a search warrant was executed at a Hollywood Hills residence where D4vd was known to have stayed, signaling a significant step in the investigation.
In response to the unfolding events, D4vd abruptly canceled the remaining dates of his international tour. The artist, who gained viral fame with hits like “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me,” signed a multi-million dollar record deal with Darkroom and Interscope Records in 2022 at the age of 17, according to a contract filed in court. The nature of his music, which often explores dark and melancholic themes, has drawn renewed scrutiny from the public and fans as the investigation proceeds.
As of late 2025, many questions surround the case weeks after the discovery, and no arrests have been made. The LAPD has urged anyone with information to come forward but has remained tight-lipped about specific details, emphasizing that it is an active and sensitive case. The singer has not made any public statements regarding his new status as a suspect in the investigation. Authorities have not yet released the cause of death for Celeste Rivas Hernandez, and the case continues to generate significant public attention as the investigation into the teen's death unfolds.
